Habitat atlas

The DEP has developed a Derwent Estuary Habitat Atlas that brings together existing information about key habitats and species in one place. This project is supported by the Australian Government.

The Atlas includes a detailed GIS database - a compilation of coastal and subtidal mapping products - that can be accessed via the LIST.

The Atlas also includes a number of illustrated educational pages to raise awareness and improve understanding about our tidal wetlands, seagrasses, salt marshes, tidal flats and rocky reefs.

The Atlas is being used to support educational activities including field trips and teacher training workshops.
