Launch of the Story of our Estuary

In our role as caretaker of Timtumili Minanya/River Derwent and Estuary, one of the key questions we get asked by the community is: “So, how is the estuary?”
As a science-based organisation it is important that we remember that information about our waterway needs to be accessible for everyone. We undertake large amounts of research that is compiled in our State of the Derwent Reports, but we are also mindful that sometimes a light touch is better for some audiences.
In November 2024 we ran a community survey to ask what people wanted to know about the estuary, what they valued and how they wanted to engage.
Based on that information we are very proud to launch the Story of our Estuary, a story map that gives an overview of Timtumili Minanya / River Derwent and Estuary and how things are going.
